What We Do
OUR PROGRAMS & VISION FOR IMPACT
Enabling safe passage, protection,
and pathways to opportunity
Below are initiatives that reflect both our active projects (denoted by *) and those that are emerging — each designed to address urgent needs, expand access to opportunity, and strengthen the systems that support long-term integration. Our work continues to grow in response to evolving needs on the ground, and with your support, these initiatives can reach even
more individuals seeking safety, dignity, and a new beginning.

At this time, our EMPP initiative, entitled Horizon Hope, is a pilot project dedicated solely to supporting a small number of Afghan refugees who are residing outside Afghanistan under the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot. This targeted approach allows us to provide tailored support and guidance throughout their journey, refining our processes along the way to best serve client needs all while strengthening employer engagement and maximizing impact for both candidates and hiring organizations. With continued momentum and stable funding, we aim to expand to support an even larger number of refugees in the years to come, expanding the range of labour mobility pathways available to support clients, broadening access to meaningful employment opportunities in Canada.

building sustainable pathways across our work
MORE THAN RESPONSE
Since our humble beginnings in 2021, we have taken immense pride in our achievements, a testament to the dedication, commitment, and skill we bring to our work. At the heart of these accomplishments lies our organization's operations, forming the bedrock of our productivity and the results we deliver.
Our dynamic five-step approach forms the foundation of every initiative we design and implement, ensuring that our mission translates into meaningful action, regardless of the context or scale. From emergency evacuations to economic mobility programming, this framework defines how we build hope and resilience.
We are more than responders; we are pathfinders — charting transformative journeys that connect vulnerable populations to safety, dignity, and a new beginning.
01. Building the Foundations of Impact
Every initiative begins by bringing together the right people, forging critical partnerships, and aligning resources to address urgent needs. We focus on creating seamless procedures and mobilizing expertise to establish a strong, strategic foundation that ensures operational success.
02. Empowering Through Information
We prioritize clear, effective, and multilingual communication to empower those we serve. By providing accessible tools, timely guidance, and transparent updates, we ensure that individuals and partners navigate challenges with confidence.
03. Designing Tailored Solutions
Every pathway is unique, requiring solutions that address individual needs and challenges. Through meticulous planning and coordination, we design strategies that align resources, logistics, and documentation, ensuring every detail is accounted for.
0.4 Delivering Safety and Stability
Safety is the cornerstone of all our efforts. We coordinate and execute evacuations that prioritize security, dignity, and the long-term well-being of those we serve. Our operations are designed to minimize risks while maximizing opportunities for success.
0.5 Bridging to a Brighter Future
Resettlement is just the start of the journey. We serve as connectors, linking individuals to essential services and opportunities that foster long-term success. From economic empowerment and education to health services and mentorship, we bridge the gap between displacement and thriving in new communities.
why our work matters
Our safe passage programming has created a profound impact through safe evacuations, resettlement efforts, and meaningful veteran engagement, all while holding at the center the critical needs of at-risk populations.
Since our inception, we've played a crucial role in the evacuation of 7,196 individuals from Afghanistan. Evacuation reflects the urgency of Aman Lara’s work to safeguard lives. This involves navigating complex and dangerous logistics to ensure clients are safely removed from harm’s way. Many of those evacuated faced direct threats due to their association with Canada’s mission in Afghanistan or their roles as human rights defenders, women leaders, and vulnerable community members.
Equally significant, 5,811 individuals have been tracked as having successfully arrived in Canada, marking an essential milestone in their journey toward safety, stability, and new beginnings.
The resettlement stage of our support highlights Aman Lara’s ongoing commitment to supporting these individuals beyond the point of evacuation. Our efforts extended to: serving as a “pathfinder” and navigator assisting clients in preparing the documentation and applications required for resettlement, connecting client to available resources and networks, and ensuring families feel secure as they transition to life in Canada, with culturally informed, personalized guidance
Despite this progress, more work is to be done to ensure
no one is left behind.
Since launching our Ukraine Operations in March 2022, Aman Lara has facilitated the support of 541 Ukrainians, demonstrating our commitment to providing safety and hope amid a devastating crisis. Our efforts reflect the complexity and urgency of navigating humanitarian challenges, ensuring that at-risk Ukrainians — including pediatric patients, families, and vulnerable groups — are safely evacuated and supported through their journeys
Of the 541 Ukrainians supported, 15 clients were physically evacuated directly by Aman Lara, while an additional 180 clients successfully carried out self-evacuation with our support and assistance. Notably, there were 9 pediatric patient evacuations by Air, along with 17 Air evacuations for patient families. Furthermore, Aman Lara coordinated 320 provincially sponsored evacuations by Air.
These combined efforts resulted in 354 clients arriving in Canada, and 187 clients safely reaching another jurisdiction.
